Albumin / Globulin

by Perseverance on Wed Dec 07, 2011 4:42 pm

Are labs results that are indicative of sustained sCR in terms of immunoglobin and light chain numbers but have an albumin trending down (4.2 --> 3.5) and globulin trending up (1.8-->2.3) indiicative of myeloma activity or is this reading too much into the numbers? The affected IGA is 23, Free KLC is 6.1 and the FLC ratio is 1.5

Hello Perseverance,
Its all about the numbers but these are not concerning.
You are right......its the serum free light chain absolute numbers and kappa/lambda ratio that you should focus on. Trends in albumin and globulin are not that informative.

Best of luck from here in Seattle !
