Hi,
The PowerPort is put under the skin and your skin provides protection. Of course, there is always a possibility of infection, but everyone I know loves having theirs. I have mine put in on the 12th of February.
As far as the Kyprolis side effects go, I have requested my oncologist request a echocardiogram every six months. I did have to request this, it wasn't something they were just going to monitor. Like Tracy said, there may be more cases of heart issues out there that aren't being reported.
Best wishes,
Rhonda

Re: About Me
Dear Rhonda,
Great idea on both fronts! I'll ask for an EKG, and get more info on the PowerPort. Thanks!
