We are concerned that my wife has multiple myeloma, but she has a very uncooperative doctor.
I found a site online that will do the urine test and I want to make sure from you readers that it is the correct test. It is called Protein, Total, 24-Hour Urine Testing.
Thanks for your assistance.

Re: 24-hour urine test - which one for myeloma diagnosis?
I assume you are going to have to pay for this testing yourself, so you are probably looking for the best single test to do at this point. If that's the case, my suggestion would be to get a serum immunofixation (IFE) done. It will tell you if your wife has a monoclonal protein in her blood, which, for about 99 percent of myeloma patients, is the sign that they have myeloma (or MGUS).
The test won't tell you how much monoclonal protein is in the blood. But, if it doesn't show any sign of a monoclonal protein, you can be reasonably certain your wife doesn't have myeloma.

My suggestion is find another doctor. You are paying him therefore it's his duty to do these test. You should not have to go out on your own for test. Don't be afraid to ask or demand test. I fired my first doctor because his staff waited 2 weeks to call for a preapprovel on a MRI. Find a doctor that cares.
