Hello,
I have had recent labs done and everything looks pretty good. But my ( high sensitivity) CRP test is still a 12?. I just wanted to know what the difference is between a faint band and a strong band on the serum immunofixation electrophoresis for a mgus patient. It was noted that I have a strong IgG lambda band. Also, I was told to see a rheumy doc about the CPR test results. Thanks

Re: 1 strong band IgG lambda
Hard to know what to make of that. An actual measurement of the band (a number) would be more helpful. A strong band may simply mean it is more easy to see because of technical differences between the two tests, or it could mean that there is more protein there. Did they quantitate your "M spike?"

Hello Dr.
Yes, It was a small m-spike 0.2. The 1 strong band IgG lambda was (SEE NOTE).
Thanks.

Re: 1 strong band IgG lambda
A 0.2 g/dL M spike is a low level one. Do you have any information on the "See Note?"
Thanks!

Re: 1 strong band IgG lambda
Hello Dr.
That is all it said (see note) the 1 strong band IgG lambda... The IgG, IgA and IgM are all within normal limits. My only other consistent abnormal labs are the elevated high sensitivity CRP and alkaline phosphatase. My bone marrow was checked recently for amyloidosis and it was negative. Thank you for taking time to answer my questions. Have a nice Summer.
