Diamonds & Champions – On April 2, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will be hosting this benefit at the Omaha Hilton Hotel in Omaha, NE from 6:30 p.m. till 10 p.m. The event includes a reception, dinner, and presentation. Dress Down Day – The Northern New Jersey chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is asking that on April 3 businesses allow their workers to dress down in honor of blood cancer patients in Northern New Jersey. Participants are requested to donate a minimum of $10. Donations will go towards blood cancer research, patient care, and educational programs supported by the LLS. ING Georgia Marathon And Half Marathon — The event, which is sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), will be held in Atlanta on March 29. The urban course winds through historic Atlanta, with highlights along the course including Little Five Points, four college campuses, Piedmont Park, and the birthplace of Martin Luther King, Jr. Following the races, all participants will receive a commemorative medal, and live music will be played at the Centennial Olympic Plaza. Lavaman Triathlon — The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is sponsoring the Lavaman Olympic Distance Triathlon, which will take place on March 29 in Kona, HI. The triathlon begins at Anaeho'omalu Bay with a 1500-meter Pacific Ocean swim, followed by a scenic 40-kilometer bike course with portions on the Ironman World Champion course. Lone Star Half Iron Triathlon — The triathlon, which is sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), will be held on March 30 in Galveston, TX. The race begins at the Moody Gardens white sand Palm Beach with a 1.2-mile saltwater swim and continues with a 56-mile bike course along the Gulf Coast of Texas. The triathlon concludes with a 13.1-mile run through the tropical gardens and towering glass pyramids of Moody Gardens. Milestones in Myeloma Therapy — The Long Island chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will host a free patient education program at the Bridgehampton National Bank in Bridgehampton, NY, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 31. The guest speaker for the event will be Dr. Marilyn McLaughlin of Peconic Regional Hematology Oncology. European Group For Blood And Marrow Transplantation Meetings – From March 28 until April 1, the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) will meet in Göteborg, Sweden to discuss current research and treatments involving blood and bone marrow transplantation. The five-day conference includes the 35th meeting of the EBMT, the 25th meeting of the EBMT Nurses Group, and the eighth meeting of the EBMT Data Management Group. Division I Men’s Lacrosse Game — On March 21, two top Division I schools, Siena College and the University of Hartford, will face off in men’s lacrosse at 2:30 p.m. at St. John The Baptist High School in West Islip, NY. Rome Marathon — The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is sponsoring a marathon on March 22 in Rome, Italy. Myeloma UK Patient And Family Myeloma Infodays – Myeloma UK’s first Infoday session will be March 21 at the Apex International Hotel in Edinburgh.
