Myeloma Beacon Launches Sponsorship Program And Patient Advisory Board

The Myeloma Beacon is pleased to announce two significant steps forward in its ongoing efforts to serve multiple myeloma patients, caregivers, and others interested in multiple myeloma.
The first important step is today’s launch of The Beacon’s sponsorship program.
“Our sponsorship program will ensure that The Myeloma Beacon has the resources necessary to continue providing the quality up-to-date news, information, and online community our readers expect,” said Boris Simkovich, publisher of The Beacon.
The Myeloma Beacon first began publication almost three years ago. Since then, the website has been supported solely through the internal financial resources of its parent company, Light Knowledge Resources.
The sponsorship program not only will enable The Beacon to maintain its current level of service to the myeloma community; it also will make it possible for The Beacon to broaden and deepen its contribution to the community.
In addition to the Beacon’s initial launch sponsor, further sponsors will be joining the sponsorship program in the coming weeks and months.
Sponsors will be identified by logos displayed on the Beacon’s webpages and will be listed on a dedicated sponsors page. Sponsorship will not affect, however, the topics the Beacon staff chooses to cover in news articles and other content on the website, or how the Beacon reports on those topics.
The Beacon’s commitment to transparency and objectivity is one of the motivations for its second key announcement of the day: the launch of its Patient and Caregiver Advisory Board.
The mission of this Board will be to provide regular patient and caregiver input to the Beacon staff on the Beacon’s current and future direction.
Members of the Board will share their perspectives on existing Beacon content, ideas for new content, changes in the website’s “features and functionality,” and the Beacon’s sponsorship program.
In short, the Board will help guarantee that the Beacon continues to serve the myeloma patient and caregiver community as effectively as possible.
Anyone interested in volunteering to be a member of the Advisory Board should email the Beacon at . Beacon staff members will reply to interested patients and caregivers with additional information about Board membership. Members of the Board will be selected and announced by next month.
