The Myeloma Beacon To Provide Comprehensive Coverage Of The 2010 American Society Of Hematology Meeting

The 52nd annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) will kick off this Saturday, December 4, in Orlando. Experts from around the world will present the latest research about various blood diseases, including multiple myeloma, and The Myeloma Beacon will provide comprehensive coverage of the meeting as it happens.
“The Myeloma Beacon will be a one-stop source for myeloma-related news from the ASH meeting,” said Boris Simkovich, publisher of The Myeloma Beacon.
Similar to the Beacon’s coverage of the American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting in June, The Beacon will provide daily updates [1] that summarize the day’s events and key myeloma-related presentations.
In addition, The Beacon will provide in-depth articles about the most important studies presented at the meeting. These in-depth research summaries will be published during the meeting and in the following weeks.
For this meeting, The Beacon also will be adding “as it happens” coverage. Beacon staff as well as others attending the conference will be posting to the Beacon forums [2] brief summaries of the presentations as they happen. A discussion thread has been created for each day of the conference (Day 1 [3], Day 2 [4], Day 3 [5], and Day 4 [6]). All Beacon readers, including those not attending the conference, are welcome to participate in the discussions.
Julie Shilane, associate publisher of The Myeloma Beacon, will be attending the conference. “I am excited to be reporting live from ASH on behalf of the Beacon. As in previous years, an immense amount of important myeloma-related research will be presented at ASH, and we will strive to make that information available as quickly and as comprehensively as possible,” said Shilane.
Additional information about the ASH meeting, including details about registration, the meeting schedule, and abstracts, can be found at the ASH [7] website. Please also see a related Beacon [8] article for highlights of the ASH presentations.
For similar coverage of this year’s American Society of Clinical Oncology [9] meeting and the European Hematology Association [10] meeting, please see the related articles here at the Beacon.
The Beacon’s coverage of the conference is made possible in part by financial support from the International Myeloma Foundation [11].
