The Myeloma Beacon is pleased to announce the introduction of German-language translations of select articles on the Beacon website.
The translations are the result of a partnership with the Multiple Myeloma and Plasmacytoma Working Group (APMM [1]), the largest multiple myeloma patient organization in Germany.
“I am extremely pleased that we will be able to offer these translations to our German-speaking readers,” said Maike Haehle, an associate publisher of The Myeloma Beacon and a native German.
Articles available in German will be marked with a small German flag. Additionally, a German flag at the upper right of all Myeloma Beacon pages will give readers quick access to all German-language articles [2].
The translations will be provided by Dr. Sabine Schock, a German physician who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1999. Dr. Schock is also the main contact person at the APPM.
"The APMM is pleased to establish this partnership with The Myeloma Beacon, and we are glad to assist in making German-language content available at the Myeloma Beacon and for readers at APMM,” said Dr. Schock. The German translations of Beacon articles also will be available on the APMM website.
The Beacon’s publication of German-language content will begin with a small number of articles. More will be added in the coming months.
Eventually, The Myeloma Beacon plans to offer content in several languages, enabling it to accommodate an even broader international readership.
“These translations will allow us to help even more members of the multiple myeloma community,” said Boris Simkovich, publisher of The Myeloma Beacon. “We are constantly looking for new opportunities to improve the Beacon and better serve people with multiple myeloma.”
