International Myeloma Workshop 2009 Update: Patient Perspective – The International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) will be holding a teleconference workshop on March 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET. Maddie Hunter, a myeloma patient and a co-leader of the Philadelphia myeloma support group, will speak on the patient perspective and leave time for questions. Myeloma UK Patient And Family Myeloma Infodays – Myeloma UK’s first Infoday session will be March 21 at the Apex International Hotel in Edinburgh. The information day begins at 9:00 a.m. and includes presentations, question and answer sessions, and opportunities for networking. Registration is required. Subsequent Infodays, each in a different city in the UK, will be held monthly from April to June and also in September, October and twice in November. Black Tie Gala – The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Black Tie Gala will take place on March 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing. The Gala is being held to honor Dr. Joanne Filicko of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Cephalon, Inc., and ReedSmith LLP for their outstanding roles in aiding the LLS in its mission.
