Caregivers Workshop — On March 16, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will sponsor its monthly Caregivers Workshop for caregivers of cancer patients. The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Camino Medical Group in Mountain View, CA. For more information, visit the LLS [1] Web site.

The Road To Discovery: Emerging Therapies In Blood Cancers — The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is hosting a free informative program on clinical trials on March 18 in Eugene, OR [2], and Commack, NY [3]. Dr. Craig Nichols, Medical Director of Lymphoma and Testicular Cancer Research at the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute, will speak at the Hilton Eugene & Conference Center in Eugene, OR, at noon. Dr. Philip Schulman, Chief of Medical Oncology, will speak at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Commack in Commack, NY, at 6:30 p.m. Both speakers will discuss the process of drug discovery and approval for treatment, recent and ongoing advances in the treatment of blood cancers, and the possibility of clinical trials for individual treatment. A complimentary meal will be served in each program, but preregistration is required.
