Current Trends In Leukemia, Lymphoma, And Myeloma ― The educational symposium will update practicing medical oncologists, hematologists, and nurses on new advances in the treatment of leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, as presented at major hematology conferences in 2008. Blood, Stem Cells And Cancers Of The Blood ― The seventh annual Charles B. Huggins Lecture Series, "Blood, Stem Cells and Cancers of the Blood," will be led by University of Chicago Ph.D. candidate Wei Xu. Over the eight-week series, Xu will give an overview of components of the blood and how and where they are formed. The lectures are designed for the general public and will be especially informative for cancer patients and their families. The two remaining lectures will be given on February 21 (“Cancer Stem Cells: In the Blood and Elsewhere”) and February 28 (“Current and Emerging Therapies for Leukemia and Lymphoma”). The lectures will be held from 11 a.m. to noon at the Billings Auditorium, Room AMB P117, in the University of Chicago Medical Center.
