The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Women’s Running magazine will hold a women’s half marathon in St. Petersburg, FL, during the weekend of November 21-22.
The event, titled Women's Running St. Pete Half Marathon to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, is expected to draw women from all over the country.
Participants can either train to run or walk through LLS’s Team in Training (TNT), the world’s first and largest charity sports training program. Through TNT, participants receive four or five months of training with certified coaches, meet supportive teammates, and raise funds to support blood and cancer research. The racecourse will wind along the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront, past historic buildings and museums.
"We're excited to partner with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training," said Dawna Stone, President and Founder of Women's Running magazine. "Together I believe we can grow the St. Pete Women's Half Marathon into the premier women's half marathon."
