MMRF Is The Official Charity Of The Rite Aid Cleveland 5K
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) has been chosen as the official charity of the first Rite Aid Cleveland 5K. The race will take place on May 16 and will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Cleveland Convention Center.
The Rite Aid Cleveland 5K is an addition to the Cleveland Marathon weekend of events. The Cleveland Marathon and Half Marathon will be held on the following day, May 17.
The MMRF has also been chosen as a charity partner for the marathon and half marathon. In addition, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team in Training will join the MMRF as a top charity partner for the marathon and half marathon events this year.
In the past, the Cleveland Marathon weekend of events has drawn nearly 18,000 participants. In 2007 and 2008, the Cleveland Marathon Charities donated over $60,000 to non-profit groups participating in the events.
The MMRF Cleveland Team is hoping to form the largest team and raise the most funds during the marathon weekend. Last year, they were able to raise close to $300,000 to fund multiple myeloma research through their participation in marathon and half marathon events.
