Dress Down Day For Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – On January 30, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) invites employees in companies across Western New York, with approval from their employers, to dress in their favorite casual attire. Current Trends In Leukemia, Lymphoma, And Myeloma – The conferences will take place at The Fairmont Washington, D.C. and the Renaissance Westchester Hotel in White Plains, NY, on January 31. This symposium intends to reach medical oncologists and hematolgists. Physician assistants, nurses, fellows, pharmacists, and others interested in the treatment of cancer are also welcome to attend. Blood, Stem Cells, and Cancers of the Blood – Wei Xu, a Ph.D. candidate in the Committee on Cancer Biology, will give a series of eight free lectures at the University of Chicago Medical Center on Saturdays from 11 a.m to noon beginning January 10 through February 28. This year’s series entitled, "Blood, Stem Cells and Cancers of the Blood," highlights the differences between stem cells and other cells in the body. Emerging Therapies For Blood Cancer Patients – On January 31, the LLS will hold a talk for Northern California patients and their caregivers at the San Francisco Hilton. The talk will involve the latest results from clinical trials for blood cancer patients as highlighted by the December meeting of the American Society of Hematology.
