Current Trends In Leukemia, Lymphoma, And Myeloma – Physicians’ Education Resources will be holding conferences at the New York Marriott Downtown and Stowers Institute for Medical Research in Kansas City, MO on January 24, 2009. The focus of both education programs is to provide cancer care professionals with information on advances presented at hematology conferences in 2008. A major goal is to increase patient enrollment in clinical trials by raising awareness of new treatments under development. The Hematopoietic Stem Cell: What Is A Hematopoietic Stem Cell? Where Is It From, And Where Is It Going? – The University of Chicago Medical Center will be holding a lecture on January 24, 2009, from 11 a.m. to noon. This lecture is the third part of an eight-week series called “Blood, Stem Cells and Cancers of the Blood” and is notably for non-scientists. Complementary Medicine During Treatment For Cancer – This free program sponsored by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will be presented by Joe Bubalo, Pharm D., on January 27, 2009, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Portland, OR.  The program will cover complementary medicines and possible drug interactions. Caring For Your Bones When You Have Multiple Myeloma - CancerCare is sponsoring a telephone education workshop on January 28, 2009, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  It allows people to learn about cancer-related issues from their own home or office.  The workshop will be conducted by leading experts in oncology and will focus on bone care for myeloma patients.
