Diana Krall To Host Fundraiser Benefiting Blood Cancer Patients
Diana Krall will host a fundraiser for blood cancer patients on February 16, 2009. Diana will be joined by special guests Elton John, Diana’s husband Elvis Costello, and James Taylor at the Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver. This invitation-only charity benefit will raise funds for the Vancouver General Hospital and University of British Columbia Hospital Foundation. These funds will be used towards bettering patient care and innovative research at British Colombia’s Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplant Program.
The six previous Diana Krall fundraisers have raised close to $4 million, funding the edition of The Krall Centre to the Vancouver General Hospital in 2007. The Krall Centre provides specialized medical care in a very comfortable environment for both patients and families.
The 2006 event included performances by Diana Krall, Tony Bennett, Elton John, Elvis Costello, and an appearance by United States President William J. Clinton. For more information on the benefit, please see the Newswire press release.
