normal bone marrow biopsy
Is it possible to have multiple myeloma and have a normal bone marrow biopsy?

Re: normal bone marrow biopsy
Hi Katie, it's definitely possible for someone with myeloma to have a bone marrow biopsy come back as normal. Myeloma's patchy, meaning that if you take a sample from one place, you might get lots of myeloma cells, but from another area, you might not get any.

Re: normal bone marrow biopsy
My bone biopsy has been "negative" ever since my first treatment was completed, and I'd also had an M spike of "trace" after treatment. Then, three months after my stem cell transplant this fall, my M spike became "undetectable".
Have you had any treatment yet, and what is your M spike?
Sounds like you are doing well!! Congratulations.
