Two elotuzumab questions

I have two questions related to elotuzumab.

First, as of now, has anybody seen anything more promising than the elotuzumab 10mg/kg with lenalidomide (Revlimid)-dexamethasone combination (median PFS 33 months) for refractory / relapsed patients?

Second, if you are enrolled in the ELOQUENT-2 trial, how are you doing and have you heard how things are going for patients?

My husband is thinking of enrolling in a elotuzumab/lenalidomide/dex study. We have about a week to decide. I heard that there has been an 80% remission rate in patients taking this combo.

Ivan,

I haven't heard of any new drug trial more promising in PFS results than 33 months. It's initial trial result data seems to be impressive as heck.

Jean,

I think you meant to say the ORR (Objective Response Rate) of this drug combo is very high (~92%), not the "remission" rate. ORR = CR + VGPR + PR, which means those patients that either had no detectable cancer or at least a 50% reduction in their serum M-Spike, etc.

Thanks, Multibilly, for posting the information about the results that were presented at EHA last year. We were going to do something similar when we first saw Jean's question, but then got sidetracked by something else.

Thank you both for the clarification. We just started treatment in May and it seems there is something new to learn everyday. Sometimes it's quite overwhelming.

Glad to be of help, Jean. And there's definitely a significant learning curve when it comes to multiple myeloma. You'll find over time that there will always be something new to learn -- and it will be useful to make sure you keep learning.

Regarding the results that were first pointed out by Multibilly, please note that those are for a trial where the patients had relapsed after at least one prior therapy. It's not clear from what you've said that that's necessarily the case with your husband.

There are trials for newly diagnosed patients comparing elotuzumab + Revlimid, + dexa­metha­sone versus just Revlimid + dexamethasone, but I'm not aware of any results that have been made public from those trials.

It is the case with my husband that he is relapsing after 2 induction cycles. Again, thanks for all the useful info.
