high bakground polyclonality

by Pipmar on Wed Mar 09, 2011 6:05 am

My husband has been diagnosed with myeloma (IgG lambda) last April 2010. He had induction therapy with Thalidomide+Cyclophosphamide+Dexamethasone and stem cells transplant. The last blood test results are: “paraprotein not possible to quantify due to high background polyclonality”. He also has high IgG (15,2 g/l) and low IgA and IgM. Does anybody know what does it mean? Thank you to all of you. This site is very helpful.
