Bone building drugs that don't cause ONJ?

My husband had to discontinue Zometa because of osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ), and now we think he has another compression fracture in his back (he had 6 at time of his diagnosis in August 2011).

We were just wondering, is there anything else that can be taken to strengthen the bones that doesn't cause ONJ?
