Options for relapsed patient with t(4;14)

by Verne on Mon Apr 15, 2013 8:23 pm

I was involved in a clinical trial useing Velcade for 4;14 patients. I was in complete remission for over 48 months. I have just relapsed and am trying to decide on my next treatment plan. I may try Velcade again or go for a stem cell transplant knowing that 4;14 patients are not a good candidate. Also I guess Revlimid is an option. Has anyone had any experience with this situation? I would appreciate any help someone could provide.

Hi Verne, I couldn't find the study/article, but I definitely remember that carfilzomib (Kyprolis) is very effective in cases with cytogenetic abnormalities such as yours. I would talk to your doctor about it. Carfilzomib worked wonders for me as a newly diagnosed patient. Good luck!!!!
