Complementary / naturopathic approaches to treatment

by wrkoutgrly on Fri Mar 29, 2013 4:19 pm

Since being diagnosed last year, I have done a great deal of research on multiple myeloma and the various treatments available. I have went through quite a bit of chemo (VRD and also VDR-PACE) along with a stem cell transplant a month ago. I will be receiving an allogeneic transplant from my sister in May. I'm only 23, so I'm pretty young to have this.

I have found one of the most mind boggling things to be all the contradicting information from so many people. I know that so many mean well and want to help, but I have had people tell me that traditional treatment is the best option, while others are very adamant and strongly believe that traditional treatment is the worst way to go, and it will do nothing but shorten my life and damage my organs.

I have chosen to listen to my doctor and have done traditional treatment with chemo and transplant. However, there are times I do question the approaches and theories of western medicine. For instance, there is a theory which claims that a better, more natural treatment is something called cesium chloride and Limu juice. I have also read about essential oils, such as frankincense and myrrh, being beneficial in killing cancer and tumors.

Some are very fastidious to claim that one's diet can play a main role in their healing process. I find myself so engaged in all this information and it gets complicated and confusing!?

Does anyone have any thoughts/input on this topic? Are there success stories you have heard of or tried yourself? Any info would be appreciated, thanks!!

D'Ann :)

You may want to review EGCG (green tea extract, polyphenon E), but never take with Velcade.
