Dr McCarthy,
I am alittle over 2 months post transplant. I am having an adominal problem that has halted my clean-up treatment for residual Myeloma. I get this pain down my stomach that is tender to the touch also. I get pressure and fullness if I even try to eat a normal sized meal. I also will get extremely hyper, nervous and jittery when I eat too much. I also have a hard time breathing. This happens 1-2 hrs after the meal. Usually in the evening. It goes away by time and walking or standing for a couple of hrs. My Onoc is stumped. He won't clear me for the Rev/Dex because if an episode happend on the Dex day. Yikes. I have no Gall Bladder, but I have a Hiatal Hernia. Any thoughts Dr McCarthy?

Re: strange symptom
Hi Eric,
This is a tough one even if I could examine you and go over your labs and other tests. Your oncologist is definitely on the right track by being concerned and you need to work with your doctors in trying to figure out what is going on. You may need a workup to rule out delayed gastric empyting an ulcer, a pancreas problem or other GI issue. You have time as 60 days is relatively short after transplant. In addition, you could receive lenalidomide without the dexamethasone if there was concern regarding the steroids. However the bottom line is to continue to recover from the stem cell transplant and work with your doctors on understanding and treating your abdominal problems.
