I welcome the chance to meet the members of the group. I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in October after being followed for a year with MGUS. I finished my second cycle of Revlimid today and seem to be improving.
I am 74 years old and this is my third cancer (prostate first, followed by colon). I have had some trouble getting my head around treatment that is not designed to cure, but I am getting more at peace with it as time passes. I want to learn from people who are "ahead" of me and am willing to share about anything I have gone through.
I look forward to this journey and the chance to learn from one another.

Re: John, 74, MGUS for a year, now multiple myeloma
Welcome to the forum, John. I'm sorry you have to be hear, but I think you'll find it a very valuable and supportive community.
I hope the treatment with Revlimid is going well and you're not experiencing any significant side effects. Are you taking any other treatments with the Revlimid? These days, it's common for dexamethasone and also Velcade to be given together with Revlimid. The Velcade is usually given as an under-the-skin injection once or twice a week.
Good luck, and I look forward to 'seeing" you regularly in the forum in the months (and years!) ahead.
