my father was diagnose with myleloma in the last stage in jan 2010 and was given six cycle of chemo (bortezomib,Dexamethasone,and,thalidomide).
last injection of the sixth cycle was given on
11-06-2010. after six cylcle thalidomide was reduced to 50 mg and dexa was stopped 24 injections of zoledronate was started of which 23 have been given and one is left (inj was given after every21 dayz ) zoledronate was stopped in between for dental treatment and was continued aftr the dental treatment.
his latest test report of SERUMLIGHT CHAINS (KAPPA&LAMBBADA)shows high kappa light chain;-
1-KAPPA LIGHT CHAIN- H-21.7 / LAMBDA - 24.0 / KAPPA LAMBADA RATIO-0.904
2-PROTEIN ELECTROPHORESIS,SERUM shows low BETA 0.68 and rest all are in range. 3-IMMUNOFIXATION EP,SERUM SHOWS Myloma.IGG,IGM,IGA,KAPPA &LAMBDA BAND -NOT DETECTED
4-ELECTROPHORESIS,URINE(URINE-PROTEIN FRACTION) report is also normal ALBUMIN,ALPHA 1,ALPHA 2, BETA,GAMMA URINE --NOT DETECTED BENCE JONE'S PROTINE -NOT DETECTED5-PROTEIN,URINE-TOTAL PRTEIN URINE-----LESS THAN 6.0
I just wont to no that is the above reports show the relapse of myloma.

I am not a doctor so I am going by what I know from my own personal experience and research.
Based on those numbers it looks like your dad is doing well. The Kappa Free light chain is barely out of the normal range which is 3.3-19.4. His reading is 21.7. The Lamda Free light range is 5.71-26.3 and he is at 24. More importantly the Kappa/Lamda ratio is in the normal range which is .26-1.65 and he is at .904. Those are very good numbers. You will see alot of people on these boards with Kappa light chain number in the 200-300 range multiple times the maximum.
The other good sign is that the immunofixation and ELECTROPHORESIS,URINE show no dectable signs of the M protein.
Nothing but good news from these numbers.
