Multibilly, the article you cited fits my case pretty closely. I've been running for almost 47 years now. (A non-runner friend always asks me what I'm running *from*

I had not heard about endurance activities tending to lower FLCs in older adults, so that is very interesting to me. For the time period I mentioned in my previous post, my mean kappa reading was 0.97 mg/dL (range of 0.60-1.83, normal 0.33-1.94), and the lambda mean was 0.44 mg/gdL (range of 0.10-0.73, normal 0.57-2.63).
So my slightly high ratios are driven primarily by the low lambda readings. And maybe the low lambda readings are just a "side effect" of my long running history. But I'm not sure why the lambda FLC would be more affected by that than the kappa, if that, in fact, is what's going on.
Ron, you continue to amaze me! Riding 55 miles in the heat you're talking about is no joke. For a "normal" person, much less for someone with multiple myeloma. Good for you!
I know what you mean about dark urine and dehydration. I've often experienced that with my running in warm/hot weather.
