Hi - I'm sorry to bother this forum, but can't find anything that explains results from my bone marrow aspiration. I have MGUS, but info is hard to find. Everyone here seems so aware of what the results mean. When I visited the oncologist, I didn't understand the whole picture. Here are my results and if anyone has time, I would appreciate what the mean. She will retest me in 6 months.
Results: WBC=7.3, RBC=4.4 HGB=13.5, HCT=39.5, MCV=90.8, PLT=319, NEU=4.5, LYM=2.2, Mon=.5, EOS=.1 and BAS=0
Consistent with MGUS, lambda-restricted.
Cellularity is normal
No sign increase in plasma cells and in situ hybridization of kappa and lambda light chain show spare kappa + plasma cell w a sign excess of lambda expressing plasma cells.
Final diagnosis: Plasma cell number and distribution consistant with MGUS lambda-restricted. FISH identified extra chromosome 7.
This report goes on and on - there is page of immunophenotype too lengthy to type.
I've read how certain Igs (A, M, and G) are assoc with risk, but can't find that in this report.
When I told the doctor that I went on the MGUS-MM predictor based on my spike she said to stop worrying about the spike and results - that is her job. Thanks, Diane

Re: Don't understand what bone aspiration results
my question is thi? Did your doctor not explain this to you? I think i would go to another doctor and let them read the reprot. Mine was completely explained.
