by Amanda on Mon Dec 12, 2011 6:07 pm

Good Evening-

I have requested the test results of my stem cell collection. I have looked online and unfortunately cannot find any inofrmation. Can someone please help me interpret?

%CD34- Viability 99%
Total Sample equals debris- free alive population
100% of CD34+ Cells are CD45+DIM

Many Thanks,
Amanda

Amanda,
CD34 is a marker for stem cells, so this report just says that the stem cells that were collected were 99% viable (alive), which is very good. They also should have dim expression of another marker called CD45, which they did. What you want to ask your physician is how many stem cells were collected, and are there enough for 2 potential transplants, if needed.
