My husband is in the hospital getting a stem cell transplant and is very nauseated. The wonderful staff is giving him Compazine [prochlorperazine], Zofran [ondansetron], and Haldol [haloperidol], but he is still terribly bothered by smells.
I read about an anti-nausea OTC treatment called Quease-Ease which uses essential oils of peppermint, spearmint, lavender, and ginger which is supposed to be very helpful for morning sickness, motion sickness, and according to their website, even chemo-induced nausea.
Any opinions from those who have already travelled this path on whether or not this might mask some of the smells which are bothering him? I'm half afraid that I will bring it in and he will take one sniff and start vomiting uncontrollably. I don't want to do that to him.
Thanks,

Re: OTC remedies for transplant-related nausea?
There is a prescription medication that many stem cell transplant patients swear by, called Ativan [lorazepam], that is anti-nausea and has a calming effect. Ask your doc or nurse for it!
