low IgA IgG and IgM

by nadia33 on Sat Jun 18, 2011 1:12 am

My sister has finished one cycle of rev vel and dex... Before her treatment her numbers for IgA and IGM were borderline low and her IgG was normal range. Het kappa/lamba ratio was 90 and now after one cycle all of her immunoglublins have drapes below normal and kappa/ lamba is around 2. M spike went from .6 to .1.... Any thoughts y all immunoglublins r below normal? Is this a side effect of Revlimid ? What should be done about this ? And lastly what is the criteria of partial remission vs. Complete ?
Thanks ..

Hi Nadia33,

This article should help with clarifying the different criteria for complete response versus partial response. There's also a link in the article to more technical information on the subject:

https://myelomabeacon.org/news/2009/03/13/current-information-on-response-criteria-for-multiple-myeloma/

I'll let others here comment on the results your sister had with her treatment.

All the best,

Boris.
