Hi!
I have been diagnosed with osteosclerotic myeloma. I have no lytic lesions, only sclerotic lesions and an IgG band of 0.30 g/dl after 4 rounds of cyclophosphamide, Velcade, and dexamethasone (CyborD). My initial M-spike was 0.41 g/dl. So my readings are very low.
I will be receiving a stem cell transplant next month. My disease would have been diagnosed as POEMS, but, thankfully, I have no neuropathy.
It is very difficult to find information about this disease. Is there any specific information we should know about this form of multiple myeloma?

Re: Osteosclerotic multiple myeloma
Hi Debbie,
This is a rare form of multiple myeloma, as you well know. I'm not sure there are any current forum members who have this disease, but I could be wrong.
As you know, POEMS is very closely related (i.e. osteosclerotic multiple myeloma + polyneuropathy = POEMS). So, it may be helpful to also look up literature on POEMS (but your doc would be better suited to make this recommendation in your case).
You might want to look at this link, which groups all the articles indexed in Pubmed about osteosclerotic myeloma.

Good luck with your transplant!

Thank you so much for the link! Because it is so rare, there is very limited information.

Debbie (and others interested in multiple myeloma with sclerotic lesions):
You may want to check out this forum thread,

for another case of myeloma with sclerotic lesions.
