Takeda announced this morning that Ninlaro has been approved by Health Canada. Here is the company's press release with full details:
"Takeda Receives Marketing Authorization In Canada For Ninlaro (Ixazomib) In Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma" Takeda press release, Aug 8, 2016
The approval is for the use of Ninlaro in combination with Revlimid and dexamethasone in multiple myeloma patients who have had at least one prior therapy.
This is a regulatory approval, not a reimbursement approval. As has been pointed out many times here in the forum, further review will be necessary by reimbursement-related organizations and authorities before Ninlaro is approved for reimbursement by the various Canadian provincial health plans.

Thank you Beacon Staff for reporting this good news! I am sure that an oral proteasome inhibitor will be a really good addition to the drugs already available here.

Re: Ninlaro (ixazomib) approved in Canada
We got a solstice gift! My husband has been approved for Ninlaro (ixazomib) in British Columbia and we'll see the pharmacist on Wednesday. He started Revlimid and dexamethasone a week ago, so we'll be adding Ninlaro to the treatment.
