After reading the May 10 "Myeloma Morning: Velcade-Related Eye Inflammation, Imaging, And Race & Weight,"I was reassured that my escalating blepharitis is a result of three years of Kyprolis.
My eyes are almost always red, teary, swollen along the edges and generally uncomfortable and unsightly. My treatment has been to use artificial tears every two hours, use warm compresses, eyelid massage and cleansing the eyelids – to little effect. I have sent the reference to my opthamologist with hopes of being able to use doxycycline.
Has anyone else experienced blepharitis with Kyprolis, and if so, how have you been treating it?

Re: Kyprolis and blepharitis (eye inflammations)
Have you tried prednisolone eye drops? They have to be prescribed by a doctor, but I take them as a maintenance dose once daily. There seem to be few side effects. You may need to see an ophthalmologist for them.
Good luck!

Re: Kyprolis and blepharitis (eye inflammations)
I have had blepharitis my whole life and I have used eyedrops with naphazoline (such as Naphcon), over the counter, for decades. It is the only thing that has ever worked for me. The negative is that over time your eyes may have more redness at the end of the day.
I don't know if blepharitis related to Kyprolis is different from my type, but you should ask your doctor about naphazoline.
