Sorry if this is not the right place to ask. We are from Asia and my dad has been undergoing chemotherapy but we don't find the doctors here to be very good.
I would like to know some hospitals/treatment centers in Vancouver that specialize in multiple myeloma because we are looking into seeking treatment overseas.
Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Hospitals in Vancouver with myeloma specialists?
Hi Sheebs, if you mean Vancouver B.C. (not Vancouver WA) you should contact the B.C. Cancer Agency. They might have information about treating patients from out of the country, who are not covered by our medicare system. Given the high costs involved in cancer treatments, though, this could be quite expensive if you are not Canadian citizens.
Hope this helps!

Re: Hospitals in Vancouver with myeloma specialists?
Hi Sheebs
I have just completed 3 months in Vancouver B.C. – stem cell transplant and follow up with regard to it.
My head doctor was Dr. Barnett, head of hematology section at Vancouver General Hospital. Also a very good doctor named Dr. Mallikarjun Kalashetty at V.G.H., bone marrow day care on 6th floor of Centennial Pavilion. I would highly recommend either.
Good luck

You can get further information from the Bone Marrow Treatment Department, Krall Centre, Vancouver General Hospital, 855 West 12th Ave., Vancouver BC , Canada V5Z 1M9. I was also treated there and there are a number of physicians who specialize in myeloma.
All the best!
