Is it possible to develop bone lesions when you have no M-spike?
I am day 51 after my auto stem cell transplant and I am lucky to have no M-spike at this time. I do worry sometimes about aches and pains. Why is my back aching, will it get worse, is it related to myeloma? Funny thing also, it was discovered that I had a couple cracked ribs which I was vaguely aware of, but was told that there were no lesions on those bones.
Thanks in advance. I love this website.

Re: Can bone lesions develop with no M-spike?
Hi Kim,
You ask a good question. The short answer is, yes, bone lesions can develop even if you don't have an M-spike.
And, since you "love this website" (thanks!), it probably won't surprise you to hear that your question has been asked before, with some very helpful feedback. This discussion,
"New bone lesions, no change in blood work - relapse?"
has some useful information, but you definitely will want to check out another discussion that is mentioned there, which is this one:
"Relapse with low M-spike"
None of this means that you've actually developed any lesions. It just means that it's possible for a lesion to develop even if your M-spike is low or zero.

Good luck, and please keep us posted about any new developments.
